Having a problem accessing a litany of modules in GM, and when I plug in my J2534 to the obd port, the dash lights up every warning light and turns of the radio. Don't remember this happening previously.

This is not normal, have you tried connecting J2534 to other cars? What's the result? Could you please tell us what functions you did that caused the lights? If you disconnect J2534, will the lights disappear?

Tried on several vehicles and only seems to happen on general motors. Plugged in the
j-box to the obd port on an 07, for a check engine light diagnostics, upon plugging in
the j-box, almost every warning light on the dash illuminates, utilizing another scanner
reveals a loss of communication amongst several modules. Even eliminates the ability
to start the vehicle when the j-box is plugged in.

bad jbox. if it was software related everybody else will be having it. don't waste your time analyzing anything and get another jbox before you run out of warranty.
